A graduate of Vassar College, Daniel began his career writing recaps of America’s Next Top Model for a website called Television Without Pity. In 2004, he was contacted by the Executive Producer of ANTM and, like the starlet getting discovered a drug store, he was hired as an Associate Producer to work directly on the show.
A decade of freelance television experience followed, as Daniel worked across all corners of the reality landscape, from some of television’s biggest docuseries (The Real Housewives of Atlanta) and game shows (Wipeout), to a Daytime Emmy Nomination on Peter Perfect to helping set the tone and structure for the first season of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
In 2014, Daniel crossed over to the network dark side, joining Viacom as a Senior Director at VH1. He quickly expanded his role to Vice President, where he oversaw the expansion of the Black Ink Crew franchise from one city to three, adding versions of the series in Chicago (2015) and Compton (2019). He also helped launch the now long-running MTV hit Siesta Key, as well as the VH1 relaunch of America’s Next Top Model.
He became Senior Vice President in 2021, where he oversees a diverse slate across multiple networks and streaming, including a continuing investment in legacy programming for linear and streaming.
Though deeply connected to the city where he was born (New York) and the city where his career was born (Los Angeles), Daniel currently resides in Seattle with his husband Eric and their two sons, Jason and Max.
